The November 13th edition of TNA iMPACT saw Frankie Kazarian beat Mike Santana to win the TNA World Title via a roll-up. Following the show, fans expressed their outrage over this decision on social media.
One fan took to Twitter and said Mike Santana should have won the TNA World Championship back in July at Slammiversary. Then, when he finally won it in October at Bound For Glory, he lost it on a random episode with a roll-up. They then asked TNA why they hated Santana.
“Santana should have won the TNA World Championship in July at Slammiversary… Then, he wins it in October at Bound For Glory… Now, he loses it on a random ass episode via a roll-up… Why do y’all hate Santana?”
Another fan pointed out that TNA took a whole month off after the pay-per-view, so Santana didn’t even make it through one episode as champion. Then they added that TNA also waited too long to give him the title in the first place.
“They took off an entire month after the ppv so Santana didnt even make it through one episode lmao this is also after they waited too long to belt him up. LOLTNA is like a work of art.”
A different fan took to Twitter and said the booking was terrible. Trick Williams had a longer title reign than Santana, which makes the situation feel almost criminal. They added that it’s nothing against Frankie Kazarian, but Santana wasn’t given any real chance to run as the top champion.
The fan ended by saying they hope this means Santana is heading to NXT. If not, TNA just upset a lot of people.
“This is terrible booking. Trick had a longer reign than Santana, it almost makes this criminal. Nothing against Kazarian, definitely deserving, but Santana wasn’t even given a chance to run with the top title. Hope this means he’s NXT bound, if not, you pissed a lot of folks off.”
Another fan said they were shocked by the ending and joked that it felt like Dixie Carter was back in charge, saying, “Wow, THATS the ending? Holy s*** is Dixie Carter in charge or something? Wtf??”
A different fan and said the person who booked this should be fired. They agreed that Kazarian deserves a title run, but felt Santana should have had a solid reign before losing the championship to him.
“Whoever booked this should be fired.
I agree Kaz should get the title at some point, but they could have given Santana a good run before dropping it to him.”
Kazarian winning thanks to interference from Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Stacks, Brooks Jensen definitely infuriated a ton of fans and it’s not hard to see why.
Mike Santana’s long road to finally winning the TNA World Championship was a major moment for fans, but the sudden end to his reign has obviously led to huge backlash online. Whether this booking choice leads to a bigger storyline or even hints at a possible move to NXT isn’t known. For now, fans are letting TNA know exactly how unhappy they are.
