Triplemanía XXXIII ended with El Hijo del Vikingo retaining the AAA Mega Championship, but that result didn’t sit right with a vocal segment of the fanbase. In fact, it sparked a whole different kind of drama on social media — one that had nothing to do with Vikingo and everything to do with Alberto Del Rio.
After the event, Triple H jumped on Instagram to give Vikingo some love. But what should’ve been a straightforward congratulatory post got completely derailed when fans stormed the comments, using the post as a platform to push for Alberto Del Rio’s WWE comeback.
One fan didn’t waste any time getting to the point, “We want alberto.” Another commenter practically begged for his return, “We want Alberto del Río Back please 😢” Another fan jumped in with their take on who should really be champion, “Alberto from Rioooooooooooo is the real champion. Real champ.”
Someone else took it further by tying Del Rio’s name directly to AAA’s survival, “We want the man who gave visibility to a Triple A that was almost dead!!! Alberto ‘the boss’ deserves to be there.” Another fan dropped a simple love note, “We love Alberto the boss.”
The timing couldn’t have been more chaotic — this all came right after Rey Mysterio himself promised during Triplemanía XXXIII that he would bring back Alberto Del Rio. So while Triple H probably just wanted to spotlight El Hijo del Vikingo’s big moment, his post accidentally reopened the door to one of WWE’s most controversial former stars.
With this kind of pressure building up in public view, WWE might have to acknowledge the demand sooner than expected — whether they want to or not.
Are fans right to push this hard for Alberto Del Rio’s return, or should WWE stay focused on the future? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
