One AEW fan’s creative sign didn’t survive the night during the November 5 edition of AEW Dynamite in Houston—and now the story’s going viral.

Before the show even started, the fan shared their excitement on social media, revealing that they were bringing a sign that read “Gay Men 4 Hangman.” But that excitement quickly turned into disappointment after the sign was taken away by security at the Bayou Music Center. The fan had expressed concern beforehand that their sign might be removed:

“hoping and praying they don’t take my sign”

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. After the show, the fan posted an update confirming that the sign was confiscated:

“they did indeed take it”

While some may have assumed AEW President Tony Khan was behind the removal, the fan made it clear that wasn’t the case, calling out the venue instead:

“it was not tony’s fault it was @bayoumusiccntr”

They went on to say that two female security guards actually liked the sign, but it was their boss who made the final call to pull it:

“yeah f** them fr 😭 there were tw security ladies that liked my sign but their boss was the one that didn’t like it”*

This isn’t the first time a Hangman Page-related sign has been yanked. Last month, an “ICE Fears Hangman” sign also got pulled during an episode of Dynamite.

Fan signs have long been a staple of pro wrestling events, offering a chance for the audience to show support, get creative, or spark conversation. But when venue staff step in and shut it down, it raises questions about what’s considered “too far”—even when the message is rooted in support.

Do you think this sign crossed a line, or was it unfairly taken away? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
