Oba Femi is catching serious heat online — and now fans are accusing him of aligning with MAGA after his recent comments.

The Ruler, who’s building momentum ahead of WrestleMania 42 and a major match with Brock Lesnar, is suddenly dealing with backlash that has nothing to do with what he’s doing in the ring. Instead, it all traces back to a podcast appearance where he talked about the people who inspire him — and fans quickly connected the dots in their own way.

Speaking to Stephanie McMahon, Femi had named figures like Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, and David Goggins while explaining his mindset and approach to success, saying he studies people who aren’t afraid to think big.

“I just recognized the pattern of everyone who was successful, they weren’t afraid to dream wild. I listened to a lot of Joe Rogan."

On March 20, 2026, fans began reacting heavily on Twitter, with some accusing Femi of supporting controversial political ideologies and even labeling him outright. One fan, reacting alongside an image of Femi in a “Make America Great Again” hat, said they were done supporting him entirely.

“Lol lost a fan in me QUICK. I had a feeling, too 😂 ‘Oh their political views shouldn’t matter blah blah.’ 🙄 Sorry I don’t like people who worship a rapist 🤷🏾‍♂️”

Another fan went further, saying Femi’s associations alone were enough to walk away as a supporter, framing it as a deeper issue beyond wrestling.

“I’m with you, I will no longer be supporting him. He openly wants to be in the circles of people who reinforce the systems & ideologies that hurt people like him. ‘You will never dismantle the master’s house with the master’s tools’. The conservative grifter fanbase can have him.”

Others weren’t even sure if the accusations were fully accurate — but still made it clear they weren’t comfortable with the situation: “Is that fr ??? I definitely don’t support anyone like that idc who it is” Another fan didn’t hold back at all, labeling him outright: “Oba is officially a Maga voter. Shameful.”

What started as a simple conversation about motivation and success has now turned into a full-blown social media backlash, with fans projecting political meaning onto Femi’s comments and deciding whether or not they’ll continue to support him. And with WrestleMania 42 right around the corner, this controversy is hitting at a moment where all eyes were already on him.
