John Laurinaitis is back in public after his return at a wrestling event recently — but it’s not his return that people are talking about, as fans called him out for using AI.
After making his first appearance in years at Big Time Wrestling’s March Mayhem event, Laurinaitis took to Twitter on March 17, 2026 to share a photo from the signing and thank fans for showing up.
“Amazing signing and matches at Big Time Wrestling this past Saturday. It was great to meet so many people”
But instead of celebrating the moment, fans immediately zeroed in on something else — the image itself. The photo looked AI-generated, with noticeable glitches that didn’t sit right. One of the most talked-about details was a man in a gray shirt whose fingers appeared distorted and melted together, along with other figures in the background that didn’t look fully real — including someone wearing what appeared to be an unusual “Arabic Hulkamania” shirt.
That’s when the reactions started pouring in, with fans openly questioning whether Laurinaitis used AI to enhance or generate the image. One fan directly called it out: “Why did you AI in the people at your table? 😂” Others piled on, questioning how much of the image was actually real: “Lmao how many of them are real” And some didn’t hold back at all, dismissing the post entirely: “AI slop”
What was meant to be a simple post about his return quickly turned into a talking point for a completely different reason, as the focus shifted from the event itself to the authenticity of the image. Laurinaitis hasn’t addressed the criticism so far, but the reaction shows just how quickly fans will call out anything that looks even slightly off.
Do you think Laurinaitis actually used AI for the photo, or are fans reading too much into it? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback.
