The May 9, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown took a chaotic turn when a fan threw a beer bottle at WWE Champion John Cena during his promo segment. Cena, who was addressing the Dayton crowd after his match, initially played it off, referencing the incident in his promo, but his expression said it all—he wasn’t happy.

A separate camera angle captured the moment the fan launched the bottle toward Cena, prompting security to act fast. The unruly spectator was immediately escorted out of the arena as the rest of the crowd booed the interruption.

Despite the disruption, Cena got back on track, firing verbal shots at both the fans and Randy Orton. But things only escalated from there. A hooded figure rushed the ring and attempted to hit Cena with an RKO, but Cena countered with a swift Attitude Adjustment.

Cena thought he had handled the threat, but the real surprise was yet to come. The hooded attacker wasn’t Orton—but Orton was still lurking. The Viper struck moments later, hitting Cena with a vicious RKO to close out the show, leaving the WWE Champion laid out in the ring.
