Danhausen’s AEW run didn’t end weeks before his WWE debut — it ended the very same day.

According to Fightful Select, Danhausen’s AEW contract officially expired on February 28 — the exact date he made his mystery crate debut at WWE Elimination Chamber.

That timing isn’t random. There was no contract overlap and no drawn-out gap between promotions. His AEW deal simply ran its course on February 28, and later that same day, he was revealed inside the now-infamous crate on WWE programming.

The report also reiterates that his agreement had been extended into February due to injury time. While Danhausen had asked that AEW not pick up his option or extend him, the extension was exercised, keeping him under contract right up until that final date.

Once February 28 arrived, he was officially free — and hours later, he was standing in a WWE ring. The same-day expiration and debut makes the transition look far more calculated than chaotic. The paperwork ended. The crate opened.

What do you think about the timing? Smart execution — or just wild coincidence? Let us know.
