Kayden Carter, now going by her old ring name Lacey Lane, isn’t slowing down after her WWE exit earlier this year.

The former Women’s Tag Team Champion opened up about her future in wrestling during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio — and she made it clear that AEW is at the top of her list. Lane admitted she doesn’t care if people criticize her for saying it, because at the end of the day, she just wants to work.

“Okay, so I know people will probably look down at me for saying this but I could give a sht because whatever, I wanna work.”*

She explained that AEW’s style is exactly what she’s looking for, praising the roster’s in-ring intensity.

“I think AEW is my speed, because, you know, those girls can fcking go. I love the way that they work. They don’t bring the bullsht. They bring the fists and you know me, I’m a girl that’s down to fight. I love that.”

Lane went on to say that AEW also offers her a sense of connection, given how many of her mentors and peers from Mexico now wrestle there.

“So I can see myself there definitely, and just because like I said, I’ve worked with a lot of people from Mexico there, like a lot of people who mentored me. My mentor’s there. A lot of people who would bring great support system to me I feel like, versus where I feel like I didn’t have much.”

Reflecting on her time in WWE alongside Katana Chance, Lane said it often felt like they were fighting an uphill battle.

“It was like me and Kacy (Catanzaro) fighting the world over there, and again, the girls are great over there but it’s not the same that I’ve connected with people who are over in that business…”

She also left the door open for TNA Wrestling, pointing out how hard the Knockouts division is working to stand out.

“Even TNA, I would go there because some of the girls there, I know that bust their ass and they’re trying to put the division on notice as well and I’m for it. I just wanna be a part of a legacy.”

Lacey Lane’s last WWE appearance came on the April 11 episode of SmackDown, where she competed in a Women’s Tag Team Title number one contender gauntlet match. During her WWE run, she held both the Women’s Tag Team Championship and the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with Katana Chance.
