Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have been a couple for nearly 25 years, and their relationship has been a constant presence in WWE. With that in mind, it appears a former WWE star has explained why Stephanie McMahon wasn’t approachable when Triple H was there.

Richards joined WWE in 1999 and spent almost a decade there, so he is well aware of how things used to function in the company, especially when it came to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s dynamics.

While speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, Stevie Richards talked about his time in WWE. Looking back, he remembered when Stephanie took on the role of head of creative. During that period, she was always respectful and friendly toward him. She never gave him scripts, produced his segments, or directed his matches, but she would often greet him and show interest in what he was doing.

Despite their polite interactions, Richards admitted he tried to avoid speaking with Stephanie whenever she was around Triple H. He didn’t feel comfortable around Triple H and preferred to keep his distance out of caution.

“She never, as far as my matches or anything I did, ever produced anything, directed anything, or handed me a promo. She would be very, very courteous to me. We would say hello, she would ask me what I’m doing today and blah blah blah, but that was the extent of it.

If she was with Hunter, I would say hello and get the hell out of there because that guy never gave me a good vibe ever.”

Stevie Richards’ story gives a rare look at what things were like behind the scenes in WWE in the early 2000s. For wrestlers who weren’t sure about their place in the company, his presence basically could feel like a wall that was hard to get past, and fans wonder if that’s the case even now.
