Former WWE star CJ Perry is officially returning to pro wrestling after a nearly two-year absence — and she’s not coming back quietly.
In a January 9, 2026 appearance on Inside the Ring, Perry broke the news that she’s making her return to the business, this time by hitting the independent circuit. While Perry isn’t planning a full-time in-ring comeback just yet, she made it clear that her passion lies behind the mic—and she’s working hard to level up.
“So, I’m making an announcement—okay—that I will be returning to professional wrestling, and I’m going to be hitting the indie scene. Definitely on the mic and managing—one hundred percent. That’s also why I’m enrolling in stand-up, because I want to be so good on the mic. I want to be so sharp. I want to be so iconic.”
Her next move? Scouting the next breakout star. And while she’s not aiming to return to the ring full-time, Perry made it clear she won’t back down from physical conflict if it comes her way.
“I’m going to start going to wrestling events, and I’m going to start searching for the next super athlete. I’m going to make rounds on the indies, looking for the next super athlete. My goal is not to start wrestling. But if someone has an issue with me and I need to resolve some conflict in the ring, you better believe I’m going to be ready.”
CJ Perry has not been involved in wrestling since her AEW departure back in 2024. Now, in 2026, she’s gearing up for a new era—one built on mic skills, presence, and finding wrestling’s next major star.
