Leah Van Dale, best known to WWE fans as Carmella, is breaking the silence around a deeply personal and painful chapter in her life.
During an interview with ABC News, the former WWE Superstar revealed she experienced several miscarriages before giving birth to her first child—and she’s using her platform to help other women feel less isolated.
Van Dale said the idea for her new women’s health platform, Snatch, came directly from the emotional turmoil she faced during her fertility journey. She described the loneliness and shame that surrounded her losses, despite having a large public following.
“I actually had several miscarriages prior to getting pregnant with my first son. And because of the platform that I do have through my time with WWE, I have a large social media following, I felt called to talk about my journey and my experience with my miscarriages because I felt so alone and sort of isolated.”
She explained how the silence around the topic only made it harder to cope:
“There was a shame I felt around it, and I felt like if I was feeling that way, there have to be other women out there feeling the same way. And so when I came out with my experience, it just really opened the conversation around this topic and I really felt like, okay, there’s something here. I need to be talking about this more.”
That drive led her to create Snatch, a free, private community space built to support women dealing with everything from fertility issues to postpartum struggles. It’s a project born from heartbreak—but built to bring healing.
Leah Van Dale’s honesty is helping start necessary conversations that many women are still afraid to have. Her story is a powerful reminder that no one should suffer in silence.
