WWE Superstars can sometimes find themselves in legal issues, and that also includes those who are no longer with the company. Now, a former WWE developmental talent is in trouble. AJ Ferrari is dealing with another legal issue, which only adds to an already bad situation.
According to The Daily Nebraskan, AJ Ferrari was arrested in Nebraska on Friday after being pulled over for speeding. The report states that Ferrari was booked on a fugitive from justice charge tied to an outstanding warrant.
A state patrol spokesperson said Ferrari was clocked driving 90 miles per hour before the traffic stop. That is far beyond the legal speeding limit.
The report adds that the warrant dates back to October, when Ferrari allegedly evaded arrest in Dallas, Texas. Authorities reportedly detained him in connection with that incident following Friday’s stop.
AJ Ferrari never wrestled for WWE and remained focused on collegiate competition. However, he was certainly on the company’s radar as an NIL signee.
In 2022, Ferrari was charged with sexual battery, which led to his removal from the Oklahoma State wrestling team. Those charges were dropped in 2023 after the district attorney cited “vicious attacks on multiple forms of social media, continuing trauma, blame, harassment, ostracism, and indirect threats to her career.”
The University of Nebraska acknowledged the arrest in a statement, saying it is aware of the situation and is awaiting more information from legal authorities, with no further comment at this time.
AJ Ferrari signed an NIL deal in 2021 as part of WWE’s collegiate recruiting program. As part of that deal, AJ got financial support, branding opportunities, and some access to training resources from WWE. We will have to see what is next for him, but he may never achieve his WWE goal at this point.
