Eric Bischoff didn’t mince words after Vince Russo declared himself a better champion than CM Punk—and the response was brutal.

On the February 7, 2026 episode of 83 Weeks, Bischoff fired back at Russo’s recent JCW promo, where Russo claimed he’d make a better champion than CM Punk and mocked Punk for “wrestling in a t-shirt” at 50 years old. Bischoff didn’t hold back.

“I don’t know, I don’t comment too much on Vince Russo. I think he’s delusional as f***. Whatever.”

Russo’s shot at Punk came during the January 29 episode of JCW, where he introduced the new Lunacy Heavyweight Title and blamed Triple H for luring Matt Cardona back to WWE—leaving JCW without a top champion. Russo then implied that he should be the new face of the company.

That didn’t sit well with Bischoff, who unloaded on Russo’s self-importance and lack of creative vision. Bischoff said just a few minutes of listening to Russo is all it takes to understand the problem.

“It should be pretty obvious that Vince Russo is in love with Vince Russo. He’s in love with the sound of his own voice. All you have to do is spend five minutes trying to listen to his show, or a promo, or an interview to find that out.”

And if you think Russo’s screen time is part of some larger creative plan—Bischoff says think again, as he believes Russo simply lacks the understanding or ability to produce good television.

“He thinks it’s a phenomenal character on TV, which tells you everything you need to know about Vince Russo and his understanding of, or ability to, produce good television. The fact that he thinks he should be on air should tell you everything you need to know.”

This isn’t the first time Bischoff and Russo have clashed—far from it. But with Russo now targeting Punk, Bischoff is making it clear: some people just shouldn’t have a mic.
