Eric Bischoff is going after Ricochet after his recent remarks — and he’s making it clear he doesn’t believe any of this is an act.

With Ricochet already under fire for his controversial MS comment and speculation swirling about his AEW standing, Bischoff addressed the situation on the March 20, 2026 episode of 83 Weeks — and completely shut down the idea that Ricochet is working a heel character.

“He’s just a goof. I know there are people saying, ‘Oh, he’s just playing a heel character,’ and his responses are because of the role he’s playing — I don’t think he is.”

That’s the starting point. Bischoff made it clear he doesn’t see any layered storytelling or character work in Ricochet’s behavior — instead, he believes it’s just who he is: “I think he’s just a f***** goof.”

From there, he shifted into Ricochet’s use of social media, criticizing the way he’s been engaging with fans and how he’s handling the backlash. Bischoff argued that even with guidance, the approach wouldn’t improve: “All the social media training in the world isn’t going to help that idiot.”

He then addressed the idea that Ricochet might be trying to use controversy to build his persona — and completely dismissed it. According to Bischoff, the issue isn’t just what Ricochet said — it’s how he’s presenting himself overall.

“To me, if he thinks he’s being creative and he’s using social media to get his character over, he’s really wrong. He’s not doing a good job of getting himself over on social media or otherwise. I just think he’s a goof.”

While Ricochet already faced backlash from fans and questions about how AEW might handle the situation, Bischoff’s comments take things further — turning it into a debate about whether Ricochet is working a character at all or simply hurting his own image. And with more voices jumping in, this situation isn’t cooling off anytime soon.

Do you think Eric Bischoff is right that Ricochet isn’t playing a character, or is this just part of modern heel work that’s being misunderstood? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback below.
