Things are getting messy between Jake Hager, FTR, and Eric Bischoff—and it’s all playing out in public.

Former WWE and AEW star Jake Hager didn’t hold back on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, saying he makes it a point to say “f** Tony Khan”* every day. But that wasn’t the only heat he dished out. Hager brought FTR—Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler—into the mix, implying they skipped a taping after a backstage meeting following CM Punk’s AEW departure.

FTR wasn’t having it. Cash Wheeler fired back with receipts, posting a screenshot of a private conversation he had with Hager. Wheeler confronted him over the comment, saying it painted him and Harwood in a bad light.

“We’re a******,”* Wheeler told Hager, “but we show up for work.”

According to Wheeler, Hager responded with an apology—but by then, the damage had been done, and the internet was on fire.

Enter Eric Bischoff. The former WCW boss tore into FTR on his 83 Weeks podcast, mocking their reaction and calling them out for what he sees as emotional weakness.

“It just makes me laugh. Fragile. There’s Dax and Cash. ‘Oh my god, he said my name,’” Bischoff said. “This fragility in professional wrestling has got to stop. By posting that reaction, you’re going to fire those internet trolls up even more… Keep your character alive in social media, guys. It’ll serve you well. This dancing back and forth between your fragile self and your tough guy image is not good. It’s just not doing you any good.”

The beef isn’t new. Harwood previously called Bischoff “stalkerish” on social media for constantly criticizing AEW. He chalked up Bischoff’s anti-Khan takes as just part of his online gimmick, saying Bischoff “buries AEW” for clicks. Now, with Hager lighting the match and Bischoff throwing gasoline, FTR is once again in the crossfire.

The drama might be petty—but in wrestling, perception is everything. And when egos clash on podcasts and timelines, it tends to get personal real quick.
