Eric Bischoff is heartbroken after losing his close friend Hulk Hogan, revealing on Fox News with Martha MacCallum that he found out about Hogan’s passing in the most unexpected way — while watching TV.

The former WCW President and current Chief Media Officer for Real American Freestyle said he was in Las Vegas preparing for interviews when the devastating news hit him.

“I learned this morning about his passing ironically while watching Fox News. I’m in Las Vegas and scheduled to shoot interviews with some wrestlers… I got a text to let me know something was going on and 5 minutes later I was in my room and watching Fox News and got the news. And I have literally been on the phone or responding to texts and emails ever since. It has not truly sunk in yet.”

Bischoff said he was fortunate to have seen Hogan just weeks ago and emphasized the difference between the icon the world knew and the real man behind the persona.

“I feel like I knew Terry Bollea. He was different from Hulk Hogan. He was kind and generous to a fault. He was loyal. He had a big heart… But until you got to know Terry Bollea, you were overwhelmed by Hulk Hogan.”

Bischoff also touched on a deeply personal side of Hogan that many fans might have never seen — his commitment to his faith. Referencing a powerful video of Hogan’s baptism alongside his wife Sky, Bischoff shared just how meaningful it had become in Hogan’s later years.

“Throughout his life, he struggled with his faith and sometimes got closer to it than others. But in the last six or eight years in particular, he really got so much closer to his faith. He was so proud to go through that baptism… it brought joy to him and I’m very grateful for that.”

Bischoff’s raw and personal reflections add even more weight to the loss felt across the wrestling world. He didn’t just lose a business partner — he lost a brother.
