Eric Bischoff Compares Real American Freestyle Company To Building WCW

The pro wrestling world is about to expand a bit as fans will soon have a brand-new option. Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan are looking to shake things up with a company that will bring one of the oldest forms of wrestling to the forefront. Naturally, Bischoff has experience building companies in this space.

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff have launched a new wrestling company called Real American Freestyle. This new company could change the game, and they are putting some leg work into promoting it.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Eric Bischoff was asked why he wanted to open this new pro wrestling company. He looked at it as a challenge, like he did with WCW, to build a company. Although there are some differences, this new promotion will also give him a chance to do something innovative.

“You know, it’s a little bit like getting the opportunity to take over WCW, although WCW was around before I got there. But, I had the unique opportunity to turn that company around, and did, which is almost the same as what we’re doing here. To me, it’s the opportunity to build something and do something that nobody has ever done.”

“I’m an entrepreneur, by nature, I have been my entire life. When there’s an opportunity to do something that’s never been done before on a large scale, and something I respect so much like freestyle wrestling, which is something I’ve dipped my toe in before in high school and then afterward in greco and freestyle. I was never good, but on my best day I was average. But, I loved it and I got to know the people in it and really respect them for the individuals they are and how tough these athletes are, so when Hulk gave me a call, and I got a chance to build a new opportunity and create a new sports leage something that’s never been done like this before– oh hell yeah, count me in.”

Hulk Hogan said that he has seen a lot of people who have made it very far in amateur wrestling, but there is nothing after the Olympics. Now, this freestyle league is going to open new doors for them.

We will have to see what is next for this new company. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are certainly two big names to get behind this kind of venture. Only time will tell if this will ignite interest for freestyle wrestling.
