Enzo Amore was fired by WWE due to allegations of sexual assault back in 2018. It’s been several years since his exit and people still want him back and now Amore has claimed a WWE higher up told him there was a spot for him in WWE.
While speaking to Julian Dorey, Enzo Amore claimed that after getting fired, someone high up in the company, someone who worked in production and wore a suit, reached out to him. This person suggested that there might still be a chance for Enzo to return to WWE.
At that time, Enzo had stepped away from wrestling completely. He wasn’t active and had disappeared on purpose. He explained that this was a strategic move, as he believed the situation that led to his release would eventually calm down and blow over.
“So what happens is—I think they… they might’ve—bro, I can’t speak on their behalf. I have no f******* idea what their feelings were about me. But let’s just say—I know somebody in the company, someone high up, works in production, wears a suit and tie, you know? And at that time, he was reaching out to me like, ‘Hey, you know, I think maybe there’s a space for you to come back… or whatever.’ And back then, I hadn’t wrestled. I had ducked out of the game—disappeared. That was a very, very strategic move on my part. I knew this s*** was going to blow over.”
Enzo Amore explained that even though there may have been a chance for him to return to WWE, he never actually called anyone to ask for his job back. He admitted that he didn’t want to face the possibility of being ignored or rejected. That fear of being met with silence kept him from reaching out directly.
Amore said he does have Triple H’s contact information and has sent him friendly messages on occasions like Father’s Day and Christmas. He received replies, which felt good enough for him. But when it comes to picking up the phone and asking someone with power in WWE for a second chance, Amore has never done it; he made it clear that he avoided that step completely.
“Well, here’s the thing, right? I’ve never really called WWE. I’ll be honest with you, man—I don’t want to face that demon. No. The demon of what happens when they don’t answer. You know what I mean? Like—be honest with yourself. Do I have Hunter’s number? Yeah. I’ve shot him texts. Happy Father’s Day, Merry Christmas. And I’ve gotten responses— and honestly, that’s good enough for me. But have I picked up the phone and actually called someone at WWE who can give me my job back? F*** no.”
Enzo Amore is currently thriving in the independent circuit and has competed all over the world and even had a match at TNA Slammiversary last month. Regardless, only time will tell whether he will ever return to WWE, as there’s no guarantee of that right now.
Do you think WWE should give Enzo Amore another chance, or is he better off staying on the independent scene? Sound off in the comments.
