Elayna Black is stepping into a new chapter of her wrestling career after her WWE release—and she’s not ruling anything out, especially a future with AEW.
In a new interview with TMZ Sports, the former Cora Jade opened up about her mindset now that she’s back on the independent scene. While she’s gearing up for her first post-WWE match on June 14 with Black Label Pro, bigger doors may still open.
AEW is firmly on her radar, and she made it clear the creative flexibility there is something she admires. When asked about a potential future with AEW, Elayna responded with nothing but honesty:
“Of course, I want to—wrestling is my life. For the past 16 years it’s all I’ve ever known. Like, I’ve dedicated my life to making it as a wrestler. So I want to wrestle, and I want to wrestle permanently somewhere. Whether that call comes from AEW, or if it comes from WWE again one day, I’m not sure. But I’m open to whatever. I absolutely love AEW. I’ve been watching it since it first started. I just love wrestling. And I feel like, I’ve said before, they have so much creative freedom, which I love, um, because I love like the stories and stuff like that.”
She also added that she’s embracing the present instead of stressing over the next step:
“So I have no idea what the future holds, but I feel like I’m not really worried about it. I’m just taking it day by day.”
Elayna Black made it clear she’s in no rush, but she’s ready if the right call comes in. And if it’s AEW, fans might see her thrive in a new environment that lets her explore the kind of storytelling she values most.
