Ever since Elayna Black was released by WWE last month, fans have been wondering whether she would end up joining a major promotion like AEW. After a month of waiting, Black has now finally addressed joining AEW again.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Elayna Black said she worked with AEW for a few weeks or a couple of months before trying out for WWE. She thought she would join AEW because she liked doing matches on AEW Dark. At the end of 2020, she was getting noticed in smaller wrestling shows and wanted to be part of AEW.
Black revealed she even made a fake “Elayna Black is All Elite” sign to help her believe she would join AEW. But in the same month, WWE gave her a tryout and an offer first, so she chose WWE. She always wanted to be part of a big wrestling company.
“I was doing AEW actually for a few weeks or a month or two before my WWE trial. I thought I was going to end up at AEW. Yeah, dark matches, and I loved it there. I thought I was gonna end up there first. I remember, it was the end of 2020, I was kinda picking up steam in the indies, people were doing Dark, and I really wanted to end up there.
I’m very big on manifestation, and I made a fake Elayna Black is All Elite logo and I put it above my bed, so when I went to bed I’d manifest it before sleeping. But then I got the WWE tryout the same month that I was doing AEW. WWE made me an offer before AEW, so I took it. Either way, I knew I wanted to be in a big wrestling company.”
When asked if she wants to go back to AEW, she said yes, she wants to wrestle full-time again and would like to join AEW. She had a good time there, has many friends, and watches their shows.
Black stated that she likes how AEW lets wrestlers be creative with their stories and characters, which is important to her. She also said her 30-day notice period just finished, but she hasn’t talked to AEW yet.
“Yes, I want to be full-time again. Yes, I would like to go to AEW. I would definitely be open to going to AEW. I loved my time there, I have a lot of friends there, I watch a lot of shows. I love as much creative freedom as they do. I’m so much about storylines and characters, and I feel like they are creatively free in that way, so it’s definitely something I’d be open to. My 30 days is just yesterday, but no, I haven’t talked to them yet.”
This comes after Elayna Black already laid out a major challenge to an AEW star. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if she will end up joining AEW as a full-time star, as fans would love to see that happen.
