El Grande Americano isn’t staying quiet after being left off the WrestleMania 42 card — and he’s making it clear he’s not happy about it.

On April 5, 2026, WWE took to Twitter and dropped a video of El Grande Americano reacting to the Intercontinental Championship ladder match — and his frustration came through loud and clear.

The segment plays directly into the ongoing build for the match, which already includes names like Penta, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans, Rusev, and JD McDonagh. But Americano’s issue is simple — he’s not part of it, and he thinks that’s a mistake. He opened up by pointing out what he sees as a major oversight, especially with multiple luchadores already confirmed for the match.

“I want to tell you that all those luchadores are going to compete at WrestleMania, but the greatest one—the biggest legend—El Grande Americano is not!”

From there, he took things a step further by calling out some of the competitors already announced, making it clear he doesn’t think they belong in the same conversation as him.

“Penta is a fan of Chaparro, Dragon Lee is tiny, Je’Von has no culture! This match for the Intercontinental Championship is an absolute disgrace without El Grande Americano and my friends!”

Americano didn’t just vent — he hinted that something needs to change, suggesting that the situation shouldn’t stay the way it is heading into WrestleMania: “I think somebody should do something about that. Let’s think of something.”

The timing here is interesting. Reports have already suggested that WWE is still adjusting the structure of the ladder match behind the scenes, with additional names from SmackDown and even AAA being considered. That leaves the door open for potential late additions — and Americano’s comments feel like they could be part of that direction.

With WrestleMania 42 less than two weeks away and the ladder match still evolving, El Grande Americano just inserted himself into the conversation in a big way — so it remains to be seen whether he and his teammates will end up joining the match.

Do you think El Grande Americano should be added to the ladder match, or is the current lineup already strong enough? Let us know your thoughts.
