EJ Nduka isn’t going out quietly. After reports confirmed his AEW contract expired, the former ROH talent took to social media and fired off a scathing post that made it clear he’s not looking back.
“I was never meant to sit. Benches were made for the unsure. I’ve heard the call now it’s time to move,” Nduka wrote. Then he turned up the heat with one of the wildest closers you’ll see from a free agent: “If you think this guy was made to ride the bench you need to call the 1800 number cause you suffer from mesothelioma you pencil neck reject.”
Nduka hadn’t appeared on AEW or ROH television since January, when he was tagging with Lee Johnson. Since then, Johnson has moved on and aligned himself with Blake Christian, while Nduka’s status went quiet—until now.
Originally signed to AEW in early 2023, Nduka found limited screen time but teamed with Johnson as the duo “LeeJ” under the ROH brand. Before that, he wrestled in WWE’s NXT system as Ezra Judge, and later built a name in MLW where he showcased his physical dominance in multiple marquee matchups.
AEW has made no official statement, and Nduka’s departure wasn’t addressed publicly until this post. Still, fans saw the writing on the wall months ago, and now Nduka’s made it clear he’s not staying on the sidelines.
EJ Nduka might be a free agent, but if his message says anything, it’s that he’s already lacing up for whatever comes next.
