Eddie Kingston just shared a major milestone in his recovery journey.
In a new post on Instagram, the former ROH World Champion revealed he’s back inside a wrestling ring for the first time since suffering a devastating injury earlier this year.
Kingston’s road to recovery has been anything but easy. He was injured on May 11, 2024, during a violent match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW’s Resurgence event. The injuries were extensive: a tibial fracture, a torn ACL, and a torn meniscus — essentially a complete breakdown of his leg. Kingston later underwent surgery and has spent the last few months grinding through rehab and physical therapy.
Now, with this training photo, it looks like the return of Eddie Kingston could be on the horizon — and it couldn’t come at a better time for AEW.
The current storyline chaos centers around AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page and the Death Riders, a faction led by Kingston’s longtime rival Jon Moxley and former ally Claudio Castagnoli. A returning Kingston would immediately shift the dynamic in this deeply personal feud, especially given his complicated history with both men.
Eddie Kingston has never been about finesse — he’s grit, fight, and heart. And now, that fight looks far from over.
