AEW has been making major moves, and Tony Khan couldn’t be happier about keeping some of the company’s standout talent in the fold. With Dustin Rhodes signing a multi-year extension and Marshall and Ross Von Erich officially joining AEW, the future is looking bright for these wrestling legends and rising stars.

Speaking to Tim & Eli on Battleground, Khan had nothing but praise for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions and their continued contributions to AEW. On the topic of Dustin Rhodes, Khan shared his admiration for the wrestling veteran’s longevity and impact in the ring.

“Dustin Rhodes has been a great, great wrestler in AEW,” Khan said. “He’s challenged for the TNT Title. We’ve seen Dustin Rhodes wrestle at the top of the profession in AEW, as great as he’s ever been. He’s somebody that I’ve watched since I was a small child. He’s still so athletic, he’s still so great. Who would have thought 30-plus years ago that we’d still be watching Dustin Rhodes? It’s amazing.”

Khan even hinted at the possibility of big matches for Rhodes, including a potential showdown with Chris Jericho. “Absolutely, he’d love to chase singles gold too, either in ROH or in AEW,” he added.

As for the Von Erich brothers, Khan is thrilled about their addition to the roster, seeing them as the future of the business. “The Von Erichs are great, great wrestlers. They are really on the rise. They have so much potential,” Khan said. “Ross and Marshall have a great mentor in their father, Kevin Von Erich, and I think they’ve found another great mentor in Dustin Rhodes.”

Khan went on to highlight the unique connection between two legendary wrestling families. “To take the legacy of the Rhodes family and the Von Erich family and work together, I think that’s really exciting,” he explained. “They’re fantastic young men, they have so much potential, in the ring and out of the ring.”

With AEW locking in legends like Dustin Rhodes and rising stars like the Von Erich brothers, Tony Khan is clearly playing the long game. Whether it’s Rhodes proving he’s still got plenty left in the tank or Ross and Marshall carrying on their family’s legacy, AEW is building something special.
