AEW Collision on July 26 ended with a surprise challenge that turned the TNT Championship picture on its head.
After Dustin Rhodes successfully defended his TNT Title against Lee Moriarty, the celebration was short-lived. Kyle Fletcher made his way to the ring and issued a direct challenge to Rhodes, frustrated that others were getting shots before him.
Fletcher told Rhodes that he “needs a one-on-one shot” and made it clear he wasn’t going to sit by and watch others get opportunities while he waited.
“I refuse to sit back and watch him give the shots to just anyone.”
Dustin Rhodes didn’t hesitate. In response to Fletcher’s demand, Rhodes agreed to the match and announced that it will take place on next week’s special Thursday episode of AEW Collision. And it won’t be a regular match—Rhodes declared it will be a Chicago Street Fight.
The TNT Title bout is now locked in, giving next week’s Collision episode a major hook. Fletcher will have to back up his words in one of the most unforgiving match types AEW has to offer, and he’ll be doing it on Rhodes’ terms.
Will Kyle Fletcher finally get his hands on AEW gold, or is Dustin Rhodes ready to teach another lesson in brutality? Sound off in the comments and let us know who you’re picking to walk out with the TNT Title.
