As seen on tonight’s WWE NXT Takeover: Orlando event, the cameras spotted former WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre at ringside before Nakamura faced Bobby Roode for the NXT Title in the main event. Moments after the sighting, McIntyre confirmed to ESPN that he has signed a full-timea deal NXT.
“Well the answer’s pretty simple,” said McIntyre. “I’ve won championships all across the world, I’ve helped build brands. So what’s the next logical thing for me to do? It’s to come here and win the NXT title.”
He continued, “If that’s not clear enough for everybody, Drew McIntyre has signed with NXT.”
Drew was originally scheduled to compete at tonight’s EVOLVE vs. Progress event, however they did a storyline where he was attacked by Keith Lee at the top of the show. He then cut a promo saying he would be unable to wrestle later.
