Drew McIntyre might be known for wrecking opponents in the ring, but in real life, he’s more likely to hide in the corner at a party. The WWE Superstar peeled back the curtain on his real personality during a conversation on Pub Darts, and what he shared caught a lot of people off guard.
Despite performing in front of millions and being one of WWE’s most visible stars, Drew admitted he’s a hardcore introvert. “As much an introvert as much as I run around in my underpants, like I’m more comfortable,” he said. It turns out the Scottish Warrior would rather deal with the pressure of WrestleMania than mingle with strangers.
Taking it further, he said people’s nightmare scenario—being in public in underwear—is actually his comfort zone. “People always say I have this nightmare of being in my underpants… I’m like, God, I wish I was in underpants right now. I’d be so much more comfortable going to that party,” McIntyre joked.
He shared that even simple social gatherings can be stressful. “My wife and I go to somebody’s house and there [are] people I don’t know, I’ll sit in the corner. They just think I’m weird… Drew’s just an introvert.”
Wrestling may have made him a household name, but deep down, Drew is still the guy who’d rather stay quiet in the background—unless there’s a camera or a wrestling ring involved.
