Drew McIntyre may be WWE Champion, but that doesn’t mean everyone’s happy about it. In fact, one fan was so furious over Cody Rhodes losing the title that he literally tried to swing on McIntyre during a backstage meet and greet.

Appearing on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Drew dropped a story that left the hosts stunned. According to McIntyre, a fan who won a backstage raffle to meet a superstar picked him—and instantly regretted it.

“There was one incident actually at a show last week. Somebody won a raffle to meet a superstar backstage. And they asked me to do it. I said, ‘Are you sure? You know Cody’s on the show, right? He’s the big good guy. I’m kind of controversial... in the middle.’”

“And they went, ‘No, no, no, everyone wants to see you.’”

So Drew showed up—but it didn’t go as planned.

“The guy came back and lunged at me and said, ‘That’s Cody’s title!’ Swung at me. Security had to get between us, and I calmed him down. We got a picture together—I said, ‘We’ll get a picture with the title.’ He was really, genuinely upset. It was great.”

Even after the fan settled down long enough for a photo, McIntyre said the tension didn’t stop there. Instead of being shaken, Drew loved every second of it.

“As soon as we took the picture, he started mouthing off again. So I stepped back, moved the security guard between us, raised the title... and just went and ran off like a child.”

“I want fans like that. As long as you’re passionate, you’re making noise. There’s nothing worse than somebody just sitting there on their hands, not making noise whatsoever.”

McIntyre made it clear: this is the energy he lives for, even if it comes with a swing or two from Cody Crybabies. Drew McIntyre might be the most unpredictable champion WWE has right now—and whether fans are booing, swinging, or screaming, he’s thriving on the chaos.
