With WrestleMania 41 closing in and Drew McIntyre preparing for a high-stakes battle against Damian Priest, the Scottish Warrior took some time to reflect on his past opponents—and he didn’t hold back when it came to Brock Lesnar.

In a new interview with Wafflin, McIntyre opened up about what it’s like to wrestle physically dominant athletes in WWE, and Lesnar topped the list. Recalling their showdown leading up to WrestleMania 36, McIntyre admitted that no matter how prepared you are, facing Lesnar is a whole different level of real.

“Like when I wrestled Brock Lesnar for the title, he looks like you’ve taken a gorilla and shaved it,” McIntyre said. “Also hey, this guy, if he chooses to, can murder basically everyone on the planet—except three people.”

McIntyre said that while he’s never truly feared a match, he’s had a few moments of realizing just how strong his opponents are. One came while working with Mark Henry.

“Mark Henry is one. He was the world’s strongest man. Technically, he still is on paper,” Drew recalled. “When he held me up, I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, this guy is pretty strong,’ and he flicked his wrist and I flew over his head. I landed on my feet behind him and just thought, ‘What just happened?’”

He also pointed to The Big Show as another powerhouse who could “take me out” at any moment. But Lesnar, he said, is in a different category altogether.

“With someone like Brock Lesnar, he’s faster than you, he’s stronger than you, he’s got more technique. No matter who you are—except a few people on this planet—he’s going to get you and have his way with you.”

Now, McIntyre is walking into WrestleMania 41 to face Damian Priest, but it’s clear the lessons he learned from past opponents are still in the back of his mind. Whether Priest can channel that same dangerous energy remains to be seen.

Do you think Drew McIntyre’s experience against powerhouses like Lesnar and Henry gives him the edge at WrestleMania 41? Or will Damian Priest be the next one to humble the Scottish Warrior? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
