Drew McIntyre clearly enjoyed watching CM Punk’s short-lived World Heavyweight Championship reign at WWE SummerSlam — and he didn’t hold back when talking about it.

In the main event of SummerSlam Night One, Punk defeated GUNTHER after hitting two GTS finishers, capturing his first World Title in WWE in over a decade. But his celebration didn’t last long. Seth Rollins made a surprise return, revealed he was never injured, and immediately cashed in to pin Punk and win the championship.

Speaking to Cathy Kelley on the SummerSlam post-show, McIntyre couldn’t help but smile as he shared his thoughts on the shocking turn of events.

“Okay, I’m gonna have to say something about this. Karma’s a hell of a thing. I’ve been watching what’s gone on on Raw with Seth (Rollins). Seth and I, professional rivals. Not like (CM) Punk and I. Seth has done exactly to Punk what Punk did to me and tonight was the cherry on top. Congratulations Seth. You deserve it, and karma is indeed a biatch.”

McIntyre’s comments were a direct reference to WrestleMania 40, when Punk cost him the World Heavyweight Title just moments after he won it, setting up Damian Priest’s cash-in. Now, McIntyre is seeing the exact same thing happen to Punk — and he’s savoring every second of it.

Do you think Drew McIntyre is right to call Punk’s loss “karma,” or was this just business as usual in WWE? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
