Drew McIntyre wasn’t done taking shots at CM Punk after the chaos of SummerSlam Night One — and he made sure fans in New Jersey knew exactly how he felt before Night Two even began.
Hours before doors opened for Sunday’s show at MetLife Stadium, McIntyre stepped outside to address fans waiting in line. With a big grin, he kicked off with some local love before firing another jab at Punk’s expense.
“It’s great to be alive in New Jersey on a Sunday or what? Oh oh, karma’s a b*tch. Ain’t it Punk? It Showtime.”
The line, followed by McIntyre laughing, drew chuckles from some in the crowd who overheard him.
The shot comes less than 24 hours after McIntyre celebrated Seth Rollins cashing in on Punk at the end of Night One, calling it the perfect payback for Punk’s interference at WrestleMania 40 that cost him the World Heavyweight Title. For McIntyre, this latest jab was just another way to twist the knife.
“Okay, I’m gonna have to say something about this. Karma’s a hell of a thing. I’ve been watching what’s gone on on Raw with Seth (Rollins). Seth and I, professional rivals. Not like (CM) Punk and I. Seth has done exactly to Punk what Punk did to me and tonight was the cherry on top. Congratulations Seth. You deserve it, and karma is indeed a biatch.”
