Drew McIntyre has been riding a career-high wave in WWE, but after the 2025 Royal Rumble, it looks like he’s not thrilled with where things are heading. The Scottish Warrior was a major player in the Men’s Royal Rumble match, but frustration hit an all-time high after his elimination—both in the ring and backstage.

According to Daily Mail UK, McIntyre is being slotted into a WrestleMania 41 feud with Damian Priest, but insiders are calling it a “nothing match.” With the momentum McIntyre built in 2024, he reportedly believes he deserves a marquee feud, not something that feels like an afterthought. Given how things went down in the Royal Rumble, it’s no surprise he’s not exactly thrilled about the direction WWE has in mind.

This frustration isn’t new. Leading into the Rumble, McIntyre was already feeling slighted. He took to Twitter to call out WWE’s treatment of The Bloodline compared to him. Posting a video from the streets of Indianapolis, McIntyre pointed out a sign reading “Yeet Street” in a prime spot while “McIntyre Street” was buried in the back. He doubled down on feeling overlooked, saying, “Over there where I was signing, how many action figures and T-shirts did they have of Drew McIntyre? Zero!”

McIntyre made it clear he wasn’t about to “sell out” like Roman Reigns and The Bloodline to get ahead in WWE. “You just have to sell your freaking soul,” he ranted, taking shots at Reigns and those who have aligned with him.

Then came the Royal Rumble, where everything boiled over. Reports from PWInsider.com say McIntyre was furious after his elimination, yelling and cursing backstage. Something reportedly went wrong with how he was supposed to be eliminated, leading to his frustration over “someone having to get their moves in” at the cost of bigger storylines. Things got so heated that sources claim he “stormed out of the building” before the match even ended.

Jey Uso ultimately won the Royal Rumble by eliminating John Cena, but many fans felt McIntyre deserved the victory. Now, with WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, WWE is reportedly moving forward with a feud between McIntyre and Priest, but it remains to be seen if that sticks.

McIntyre has fought through setbacks before, and if his recent attitude is any indication, he’s not about to just accept whatever WWE throws his way. If he doesn’t like the plans in place, will he push for a bigger match, or could this frustration lead to even bigger changes?

What do you think—should WWE be doing more with Drew McIntyre, or is he right to be frustrated? Drop your thoughts below.
