Drew McIntyre nearly missed the biggest weekend of the summer, but now the Scottish Warrior says he’s officially back in the game.
After reports surfaced that McIntyre was stranded in the UK due to a missing passport, the former WWE Champion finally broke his silence with a video on social media. The travel issue was real—not a WWE storyline—and it caused chaos behind the scenes as WWE scrambled for backup plans. But now, McIntyre has cleared things up himself.
“Well, I just got a nice little workout in. The past few days my phone’s been exploding—text messages, direct messages, phone calls. Everybody looking for an answer to leak it somewhere I’m sure, rather than actually checking if I’m OK,” McIntyre said in the video. “So the update is here. Really wasn’t looking good. It’s not felt good.”
He also addressed The Miz, who offered to step in as Logan Paul’s tag partner if McIntyre couldn’t make it.
“I’ve seen Miz. A little selfish of you offering to take my place, Mike… Mizark. Is that the last name? Missionary Mike? It doesn’t matter. I’ve got an update for you, Mike. The answer is absolutely.”
That’s when Logan Paul jumped in, shutting down the idea of teaming with The Miz once again.
“Hell no, I think I’m a partner with The Miz? I got a Scottish Warrior, stupid.”
McIntyre fired back, joking that Paul may have been the one behind the passport drama.
“You tried to get me stuck in the UK. I know you’re behind it, but this guy’s got more powerful friends than you. He sent the jet—and it’s Saturday. Come on. You and Randy are screwed.”
With that, McIntyre confirmed he will be back in time to join Logan Paul for their match against Randy Orton and Jelly Roll at SummerSlam.
What do you think—was this all just bad timing, or do you believe someone wanted McIntyre to miss the show? Sound off in the comments.
