WWE shifted the entire Drew McIntyre suspension story on December 15, 2025, when it released footage tied to a shocking update posted on social media.

WWE tweeted that Cody Rhodes had started a brawl at Drew McIntyre’s home while Drew was meeting with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis — and the video showed exactly how things spiraled out of control. The footage begins with Aldis arriving at McIntyre’s house with cameras rolling, explaining why the meeting needed to be documented.

“So I brought you guys with me here today to document everything because unfortunately, it’s come to this. I have to make sure I catch everything on camera because there’s no way of knowing what Drew will misrepresent if I don’t.”

Aldis thanked Drew for allowing the meeting to take place at his home and acknowledged that the situation could have been handled at the office, but said he was there in good faith — despite McIntyre’s recent actions in Washington, DC.

Aldis then laid out WWE’s proposal, stressing that the company still wants McIntyre back on SmackDown.

“Cody wants you reinstated. We all want you reinstated. You’re a top talent in WWE. Obviously an integral part of SmackDown. So I have a proposal. I think that you’re gonna like the terms — you get a one-on-one match with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The title will be on the line.”

Aldis added that WWE also wanted a public apology and a fine.

“To show our officials and the WWE Universe that you’ve repented, I’d like a public apology to Dan Engler for that heinous attack. He’s lucky he’s not in intensive care. There’s also a hefty fine, but I think that your payday from Survivor Series WarGames should just about cover that. So those are the terms. Take it or leave it.”

McIntyre immediately pushed back, making it clear he didn’t trust the deal being offered.

“This is what Cody wants. This is what you want. You’ve created an unsafe working environment. I accept these terms. I’m just gonna get screwed again. So no, I don’t accept your terms.”

When Aldis demanded to know what McIntyre actually wanted, Drew laid out his own conditions.

“What I want is fair. Fair. That’s it. If I come back, I get my WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes — I deserved. I’m learning how much you’re willing to protect your golden boy. But I want to pick the stipulation.”

Aldis reluctantly agreed, but Drew wasn’t finished. He demanded legal protection before the match.

“I want you to fly back to Stamford, Connecticut after we finish here. I want you to get your little lawyers together. And I want you to drop some documents that say Cody Rhodes cannot lay one finger on me before that Championship match or he is stripped of the WWE Championship.”

Aldis, clearly unhappy, accepted the terms. “You know, I really hate this. But get the match in the ring.” As Aldis explained that legal paperwork could be ready by the end of the day, the tone of the meeting suddenly changed. McIntyre checked his security camera and realized Cody Rhodes had arrived at his property.Drew exploded.

“What the hell is this? Oh, come on, man. You’ve gotta be kidding me. You’re seriously gotta be kidding me. My house, my home. Really, Aldis? You set me up like that. You come to talk. You bring him to my house. He’s out there right now. Handle it.”

Moments later, the footage shows McIntyre and Rhodes brawling outside the house, turning a tense negotiation into a full-blown physical confrontation on Drew’s own property.

With WWE confirming the incident and releasing the footage themselves, the situation between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes has officially crossed into dangerous territory — and it’s clear this rivalry is far from contained.
