Drew McIntyre has just now claimed that 85% of the WWE roster look like they don’t really belong in the company.

While speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, Drew McIntyre revealed his frustration about how some WWE wrestlers appear on big TV shows and platforms but don’t look like they belong in WWE. He said around 85% of the roster doesn’t have the strong, star-like appearance fans expect.

The Scottish Warrior notes that when his friends check out wrestling, they’re impressed by names like Logan Paul, or Roman Reigns, who Drew said looks and acts like a real superstar.

But he feels that many other wrestlers just don’t have that same impact. He even said some look like they should be working at a fast food place, which makes it hard for viewers to take the show seriously.

“Yeah. And the more you put me in those situations—especially with WWE—it drives me nuts when I see some of our guys on these huge public platforms, huge TV shows.

Because these days, no offense, but 85% of our guys don’t look like they should be in WWE. They’re on Netflix and stuff, and my buddies will contact me and go, ‘Yo, I just turned on wrestling for a bit to see what you’re up to.’

It’s cool to see people. Oh, Logan Paul’s on there and he’s killing it. Roman Reigns—what a freaking star. The guy comes on the screen and just pops right off it. He’s a freaking giant.

Then there’s these other guys who look like they should be serving me my fast food at McDonald’s or something, and I’m thinking, ‘I could kick their ass.’ It takes me out of it.”

Even if those wrestlers are good in the ring, Drew McIntyre thinks people might not stick around long enough to care. That’s why he believes looks and presence matter in wrestling.

McIntyre told talent to work on their image, whether that means getting in better shape or just finding something about themselves that grabs attention. For Drew, it’s not about looking a certain way; it’s about making people want to watch you.

“I’m like, ‘Yeah, they’re good at wrestling, and maybe you’ll connect with them eventually, but I’m not going to watch it long enough. I change the channel.’ It’s like, Jesus, guys, get in the freaking gym or at least do something that grabs attention. You don’t have to be that guy, dude.”

Drew McIntyre believes presentation really matters in WWE so it comes as no surprise he isn’t really happy with how most of the WWE roster looks right now. Therefore, we’ll have to see if anyone will listen to McIntyre’s advice and hit the gym.

Do you agree with Drew McIntyre that the WWE roster needs to focus more on their image? Or do you think wrestling has evolved beyond just looks? Sound off in the comments.
