U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed his emotional thoughts on Hulk Hogan following the Hulkster’s death last week.
While speaking to Going Ringside, Donald Trump shared his thoughts and memories about Hulk Hogan. He said Hogan gave one of the best speeches in the country and was very proud of it.
Hogan once told Trump that he wished he had spoken out more strongly, but he was afraid of being criticized. He felt bad about that and later tried to make up for it. Trump said Hogan was a great man and an amazing performer.
Trump also talked about Hogan’s physical strength. He said being a good performer isn’t enough; you also need to be strong. He remembered seeing Hogan lift 350-pound men and throw them out of the ring and said Hogan was the real deal.
“He made the best speech in the country and he was very proud. You know, he told me, ‘I wish I came out stronger, but I didn’t want to be criticized.’ And he felt so badly about it, and he really overdid it—almost, if you can overdo such a thing. He was a great guy. He was an unbelievable showman.
I’ll tell you what, he really—he was a physical specimen, because you could be a good showman, but if you’re not a physical specimen, it’s not going to work. You’ve got to go into another line. But I’ve watched him lift 350-pound men over his head and throw them out of the ring. No, he was the real deal.”
The President mentioned that Hogan fully supported the MAGA movement. Even though Hogan wasn’t very political before, he became more involved in the last few years. The Hulkster told Trump he was angry at himself for not getting involved sooner. He also told Trump that he had always liked him. They had been friends for a long time, but Trump said Hogan got a lot of hate for his political views.
Trump also talked about how hard Hogan worked as a wrestler. He said Hogan wrestled up to 200 times a year, sometimes even every night. That kind of schedule hurt his body. Trump saw how much pain Hogan was in, with problems in his knees and back.
“He was MAGA all the way. He said, ‘I’ve always loved you.’ You know, we’ve always been friends, but he wasn’t a political guy. And in the last three years, I’d say, he became really political. And he said, ‘I’m so angry at myself for not doing it early.’ He was happy, but you know, he took a beating.
When you look at the life that they lived, he would wrestle sometimes 200 times a year. Think of that. I say, ‘What? Do you wrestle every weekend?’ ‘No,’ he said, ‘Sometimes you wrestle every night.’ And it’s hard to believe, but being a friend, I got to see his life a little bit.
And his knees were in trouble, his back was in trouble. He was—he was in such trouble. But he was great. He was a great man. He was an incredible gentleman, and he was really a great friend. And he was a great friend of MAGA.”
Hulk Hogan appeared at the Republican National Convention last year, setting the stage for the U.S. Presidential elections and ultimately being a huge factor in Donald Trump’s winning the elections.
Donald Trump’s tribute showed that Hulk Hogan was more than just a famous star; he was someone who had tough times, regrets, and strong beliefs. He gave everything he had and never complained. That’s why fans will always love him no matter what and that’s never going to change.
