Dominik Mysterio didn’t hold back during his appearance on Beyond The Match Wrestling, taking a verbal jab at the city of Brisbane and throwing in a not-so-subtle insult at the entire country of Australia while describing his arrival as a double champion.
When asked what it’s like traveling with two championship belts, Dominik immediately turned the spotlight on the Brisbane airport staff—and used the moment to take a heel-worthy swipe at Aussie pride.
“I landed in the—how do you pronounce it? Brisbane. Brisbane airport. And they made it a huge deal… like they’ve never seen a champion before. I don’t know if you Australians just aren’t used to winning.”
After the dig, Dominik tried to soften the blow—but only slightly—by joking about UFC fighter Jack Della Maddalena being in the country.
“I mean, Jack was here, so I should probably be careful, you know—UFC champion might get me.”
Even then, Dominik circled right back to the weight of carrying two titles and the constant pressure that comes with being at the top of the game.
“Security made it a hassle… But no, being a double champ is hard, man. Double champion’s hard. You got people coming to your left, to your right, behind you, always trying to take my title. So it’s not easy being the greatest of all time.”
Dominik’s remarks are classic heel behavior—but depending on who you ask, he may have crossed a line. Still, there’s no denying that Dirty Dom continues to lean hard into his villain role while holding court as one of WWE’s most talked-about champions.
Do you think Dominik’s comments about Brisbane were just character work, or did he go too far this time? Drop your thoughts below and let us know how you feel about Dirty Dom disrespecting the Aussies.
