Dominik Mysterio is riding a major high ever since he won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41. With that said, Mysterio also revealed his unprecedented plans if he wins the Money in the Bank ladder match this year.
While speaking on the Babyfaces podcast, Dominik Mysterio was asked if he could be Mr. Money in the Bank this year. Mysterio said he was definitely up for it as long as he doesn’t have to hang from anything.
Mysterio joked that the Intercontinental Championship is really heavy, so having a briefcase to carry it would be helpful. The more he thought about it, the more he liked the idea and said they should just go for.
“Dude, as long as I’m not hanging from anything, you know, I’m down. I’m super down. Like, I like this belt, this title—this Intercontinental Championship—it’s actually super heavy. So it would be nice to have a little briefcase to put it inside. There we go. You know, to like hold it. Yeah, I think that’s very practical.. Yeah. Now that I’m thinking about it, that makes sense. Let’s just—let’s make it happen. Let’s do it. Right?”
Dominik Mysterio explained that he’d do things differently with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Most people want to cash it in for a world title, but he’s not in a rush. He believes he’ll win a world title eventually.
“I feel like I’d be very different with the Money in the Bank briefcase, you know? Because everyone’s thinking world title, world title. But it’s like—I know I’m going to get there. I know that’s going to be mine one day, right? So like, I’m in no hurry.”
For now, he is thinking about using the briefcase in an unprecedented way. He wants to team up with JD McDonagh, go to SmackDown, win the tag team titles from the Street Profits, and then cash in the briefcase for more tag titles back on Raw. No one has done that before.
Mysterio said he’d love to use the briefcase for tag team gold instead of just chasing a singles title. He wants to help his Judgment Day teammates, whether it’s Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Carlito, or someone else win championships. He even said he would be willing to give the briefcase to one of them and say, “It’s for you, not me.” His goal is to do something different and make history with The Judgment Day.
“I’m thinking long term, right? Money in the Bank. I’m thinking—I’m thinking me and JD go over to like SmackDown and take the titles from the Profits, you know? And then like maybe come back to Raw and then cash in the Money in the Bank on some tag titles. Me and JD. That’s never been done before, dude.
I’d love to cash in my Money in the Bank briefcase on some tag titles. Like, that’d be dope. Never been done. Everyone’s selfish and they want to go for a singles title. No, I want to bring my boys with me. So, like, whether it’s Finn, JD, Carlito—hell, even if it’s one of them, I’ll cash in the briefcase and be like, ‘It’s not for me. It’s for them.’ And give them some gold. So, like, I’m just here to change and make history for The Judgment Day.”
With the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event set to take place on June 7, we will have to wait and see whether Dominik Mysterio wins the ladder match and ends up cashing in his briefcase for tag team titles. After all, it would definitely be something no one could have ever expected.
