Dominik Mysterio’s quick rise as one of the most hated villains in pro wrestling is impressive because fans find it so easy to boo him. His mustache has become a big part of his look now, and he has explained how he actually got his mustache by accident.

While speaking on the Untriggered podcast, Dominik Mysterio explained that his mustache happened by accident. He said he got lazy and normally shaves because he doesn’t like having facial hair.

One day, possibly a Monday, Mysterio was running late and forgot to shave. Someone saw him with the facial hair and told him not to shave, and that’s how he ended up with the mustache look.

“The mustache was actually an accident. I got lazy, and usually I shave because I don’t like having facial hair. It was a little bit long—I think it was on a Monday—and I was running late and forgot to shave. Someone saw me and told me, ‘Don’t shave,’ so that’s how you get a mustache by accident.”

This comes after Dominik Mysterio previously made it clear that he is willing to open an Instagram account fully dedicated to his mustache. CM Punk has also made it clear that one of his main goals for 2025 is to shave Dominik Mysterio’s mustache.

What began as Dominik Mysterio just forgetting to shave ended up becoming a surprising part of his image. Right now, his mustache is a big talking point among fans, showing that sometimes the best wrestling gimmicks happen by accident and Mysterio wouldn’t have it any other way.
