Dominik Mysterio is done playing nice when it comes to John Cena’s farewell tour. While Cena’s final match has fans flooding ticket sites and sending presale numbers through the roof, Dominik is making it clear—he’s ready to shut the whole thing down himself.

While speaking with Graps & Yaps on October 15, Dominik didn’t hold back when asked about potentially facing Cena in one of his final four matches. When the idea of Cena challenging for the Intercontinental Championship was floated, Dominik fired off a response that was anything but respectful.

“If that old geezer wants me to put a final nail in his coffin, I’ll be more than happy to. You know, that’s what I’m here for,” he said.

The host reminded Dominik that Cena has just four appearances left before retirement and noted he’s only one title away from becoming a Grand Slam Champion. That didn’t shake Dominik’s confidence one bit.

“I mean, at the end of the day, I’m here. If John Cena wants some, he can come get some,” he added.

It’s a sharp contrast from his previous comments about Cena, where he expressed genuine admiration for the 16-time world champion. In an earlier interview with The Wrestling Classic, Dominik recalled his earliest memories of Cena and their time working together after the pandemic.

“I’ve known that dude since I was a kid… I was a Cena mark, you know? But at the end of the day, it’s really cool to hear that from a guy like that,” he said at the time.

That respect seems to have faded fast. Now, with Cena’s farewell match set for Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C., and over 42,000 fans crashing the presale queue just minutes after tickets went live, Dominik might be eyeing one of those final spots—and he’s already playing the heel to perfection.

Whether Cena actually challenges for the Intercontinental Title or not, Dominik just made his case loud and clear. If WWE wants a true villain to cap off Cena’s final run, he’s already laced up and waiting.
