Dominik Mysterio Admits He Used to Steal Rey Mysterio’s Sneakers as a Kid

Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio have been feuding with each other for well over two years now, after Dominik turned heel on his father. Even then, there’s no doubt he’s been influenced by his dad in a big way and now Dominik has admitted he has been stealing his father’s sneakers since he was a kid.

While speaking to Complex, Dominik Mysterio talked about his sneaker collection and shared how deep his love for shoes goes. He said that if one looked in his closet, one would see a serious collection.

When CM Punk showed up with the Off-White Jordan 1s on a recent episode of the show, Dominik pointed out he already owned those, showing he’s been ahead of the game for a while.

“Like at the end of the day, you know, you go to my closet, you see all this really—like, you know, what was it, last episode Punk came in and bought the Off-White Jordan 1s? And he wore ’em. I already had those. You know, so it’s like I’ve been in the game.”

The Intercontinental Champion stated that his interest in sneakers started early. Ever since he was 10 years old, he used to sneak into Rey Mysterio’s garage closet and steal his shoes.

Since his dad wore a size seven or eight, Dominik Mysterio could fit into them very young. He remembers finding Air Force Ones, Jordan 1s, and Jordan 4s in there. He would wear them around until his dad caught him and told him to take them off and put them away.

“Like, it’s not like—since I was 10 years old stealing my dad’s, you know, size eight shoes already. Yeah, 100%. So, I remember he had like a little closet in his garage, and, you know, he’s a little guy, so he’s a size seven, size eight. So by 9, 10 years old, I was able to sneak in there. I had some Air Force Ones, some Jordan 1s. He had some 4s in there. And I remember I’d just show up, and I’d be climbing around in his sneakers, and he’d look at me like, ‘Go take those off. Go put them away.'”

Dominik Mysterio stealing Rey Mysterio’s sneakers isn’t really a surprise considering the fact that he’s been feuding with his father for basically his whole life at this point. Regardless, there’s no one who can challenge Mysterio’s sneakers game and that’s never changing.
