Lawler says that Hart had so much heat at that time that they could put any performer with him and that heat automatically transferred to the competitor. It was a perfect situation, and bringing a star in the making like Hulk Hogan into the fold was a dream scenario.

Lawler mentions that Hulk Hogan was an incredible performer right from the start, long before he could even execute a headlock. His physique was impeccable and he had a presence about him right from the start which made it obvious he would become a massive star. Looking back now, Lawler considers Hogan to be the biggest name in the history of professional wrestling, bigger than even Steve Austin and The Rock.

Hart says that’s hard to argue with, and these types of performers are so hard to come by. Austin and The Rock had it, John Cena has it right now, but other than that these guys are few and far between. Lawler says he doesn’t seen the next Hulk Hogan coming anytime soon.

Lawler recalls teaming with Hulk Hogan for a series of matches in 1979. Hart can recall those matches, and he mentions that he still has a lot of his old merchandise and posters from those days. He has several posters promoting Lawler & Hogan matches from those days and it’s great to look back on those and relive old memories.

Lawler recalls working matches against Hogan and wanting to show up Hogan during his entrance. Hogan would walk to the ring those days wearing a large robe and Lawler decided to ride to the ring on a horse one evening to ensure that he’d have the more elaborate entrance.
