Diamond Dallas Page isn’t just changing lives—he’s helping Lex Luger reclaim his own. And soon, the entire journey could be captured on film.
During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, DDP confirmed that a Lex Luger documentary is in the pipeline. The goal? To chronicle Luger’s road to recovery after decades of health struggles, paralysis, and life-altering setbacks. But Page made one thing clear: the project will only move forward when Lex is physically and mentally ready.
“That’s the goal,” DDP revealed. “And it’s got to be when he’s hit that spot where he feels really comfortable. His physical and mental action will tell us when that is. And we’re not there yet.”
The wrestling legend shared how close they came to a powerful visual moment—a triumphant Hall of Fame walk. Page even built a custom boardwalk at his Panama City Beach retreat so Luger could roll out from the house and walk the final stretch with DDP by his side.
“We had great footage of him just putting his hand on my shoulder and walking like 15 feet, 20 ft,” Page said. “We had that and we were going to rehearse it once we got to Vegas.”
But fate had other plans. Just before the Hall of Fame, Lex was injured in a freak accident when an Uber driver failed to properly secure his wheelchair.
“When Lex went to get out of the car in Atlanta… the guy came around with the chair but he didn’t hold on to it. So when Lex went to sit on it, it slid. Boom. He hit that concrete and he felt so bad,” DDP explained. “He’s like, ‘Dee, I feel so bad. I can’t walk. And I want to do this for you.’ I’m like, f*ck me, this is about you, and we’re doing a documentary.”
Even with the setback, Luger was able to stand for a moment during his Hall of Fame segment—an emotional reminder of how far he’s come.
“He did get up that last two steps, and he did stand up there, and that was really special,” DDP said.
The documentary is more than a passion project—it’s a statement. A message that even the biggest names in wrestling can fall, recover, and inspire the world through their fight.
Lex Luger’s story isn’t finished—and Diamond Dallas Page is making sure the world sees it when the time is right. From WCW icon to real-life survivor, Luger’s comeback is unfolding one step at a time, and when it finally hits the screen, it might just be his greatest moment yet.
