Diamond Dallas Page sees something familiar in LA Knight—and he’s not shy about it.

During a conversation on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, DDP was asked about the comparisons fans are making between his late-blooming WCW run and LA Knight’s rise to superstardom in WWE at age 43. DDP didn’t just agree with the comparison—he endorsed it with full confidence and admiration.

“I love that kid, man. I mean, I love the tenacity, you know, the stick-tuitiveness. Like, it took him a long time to get to that character, and he was good before that — but now he’s great,” DDP said. “And, you know, hopefully at some point he gets a chance to really get that ball, because he can run with it. Give him that damn ball because that cat, he’s got it all.”

He dismissed critics who claim Knight is a copycat, stating clearly that LA Knight is the product of everything he grew up loving about wrestling—not a cheap imitation.

“And people who say that he’s mimicking this character or that character — that’s so wrong. He’s a piece of all that. He grew up on all of us, coming up wanting to do what we do, and now he’s doing it at its highest level.”

DDP even sent Knight a story comparing their careers and was blown away that both of them hit their career peaks at the exact same age. Page was 43 when he won his first WCW World Title. Knight is currently 43 and still climbing.

“He’s 43? F*cking looks great. He looks great, man.”

Page also recalled how proud he was to see Knight get a world title shot and a major spot in the Royal Rumble.

“I was so happy when he got that shot for the world title… That whole Rumble thing, man, I was so happy for that kid.”

DDP’s endorsement is more than a passing nod—it’s a full-circle torch pass. He knows exactly what it’s like to defy the odds later in life and build momentum brick by brick. And he sees that same underdog-turned-main-event energy in LA Knight.

While the wrestling world continues to argue over who LA Knight reminds them of, DDP sees the bigger picture. He sees a star ready to break through—just like he once did. Whether Knight becomes a world champion remains to be seen, but if DDP had the book? That title run would already be in motion.
