Despite officially signing with AEW alongside the rest of The Rascalz, Wes Lee (now going by Dezmond Xavier) still has one WWE connection fans keep asking about—his Instagram handle.
On January 17, 2026, the former NXT star took to his Instagram story to explain why his account still reads @weslee_wwe, even though he’s long gone from WWE and just inked a multi-year deal with AEW. Turns out, it’s not sentimental—it’s just a pain to change.
“Look.. I know I need to change my handle. But @instagram makes it so difficult.”
That said, Desmond Xavier made it crystal clear that “Wes Lee” is done, buried, and never coming back ever again, saying, “Just know that foo Wes Lee got the ‘ol yeller’ treatment. He gone.”
This comes just days after Fightful Select reported that Xavier, along with Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed, had all quietly signed with AEW after exiting TNA Wrestling. While AEW has yet to officially announce the deals, the group has already debuted, marking a major new chapter in their careers.
But if anyone was holding out hope for a Wes Lee comeback or assumed the IG handle meant anything? That door has been slammed shut. Wes Lee is dead. Dezmond Xavier is All Elite. The handle’s just waiting on Instagram to get their act together.

Do you think Dezmond Xavier should just make a fresh account—or should he keep the old one for nostalgia? Sound off in the comments and let us know!
