Deonna Purrazzo had a lot of hype behind her after making her AEW debut in 2024 but she hasn’t been featured on AEW television for a long time now. While she remains absent, Purrazzo has now clarified her recent shade towards AEW after a commercial aired on Dynamite this week.

A fan took to Twitter and stated that they wanted to see Deonna Purrazzo wrestle on AEW Dynamite instead of just appearing in a commercial during the show, saying, “This is nice and all but we want to see @DeonnaPurrazzo on #AEWDynamite not in a commercial during Dynamite.” The comment came after Purrazzo was featured in a commercial for Southern New Hampshire University that aired during Dynamite.

Purrazzo then responded to the fan on Twitter, explaining that she didn’t mean any harm with her previous tweet about being in a commercial. She said it was meant as a joke and that when she was asked to be in the ad, she had no idea it would become a major national commercial or that it would air during Dynamite Fyter Fest.

Purrazzo added that the response over the last few months has been overwhelming and that she feels honored to help connect academics and pro wrestling, while maybe inspiring a few people in the process.

“I truly meant no harm last week when I tweeted about this. I thought it was clear, I was joking. When I was asked to shoot this commercial, I had no idea that it would become a HUGE national commercial, let alone play during Dynamite. The response the last few months since it came out has been overwhelming and I’m HONORED to bridge the gap between academics & pro wrestling… and maybe inspire a few people along the way ❤️”

This comes after Deonna Purrazzo threw shade at AEW over her lack of television time, as she said, “During picture in picture, probably,” after a fan asked her if she would be at AEW Dynamite last week.

Purrazzo was last seen on AEW television during the February 26th edition of AEW Dynamite, where Harley Cameron defeated her. Regardless, we’ll have to see when she will be back on AEW television but she just had to make it clear she was clearly joking in her previous tweet.

Do you think AEW is underutilizing Deonna Purrazzo, or is her moment still coming? Sound off in the comments.
