R-Truth shocked the world when he announced he would be parting ways with WWE. Many people instantly believed that it was all a work but now it appears we have confirmation it’s not a work at all.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry was asked about R-Truth’s WWE exit and whether it was all a work. Mark Henry confirmed that R-Truth’s WWE departure is real and not a work at all.

Mark shared that when he was let go from WWE, no one gave him advice or helped him. So now whenever someone he knows gets released, he calls them, gives support, and tells them what steps to take next.

“It got me ’cause I called him [R-Truth]. He’s like, ‘Well man, it’s true.’ And I said, ‘Damn.’ I said, ‘Don’t get the boo boo face. Life for you is gonna be fine.’

You know, I had nobody to tell me, Dave, that when I got let go — ‘Hey man, alright, it’s no time for doom and gloom. It’s time to make this turn, make that turn.’ I didn’t have anyone to do that for me. So everybody that I know that goes through it, I call them and I say, ‘Hey, I got you. These are the steps, you do that, yada yada.'”

Henry said R-Truth sounded serious and was trying to figure out what to do next. Mark also asked if R-Truth wanted to come on and talk about it, but R-Truth said he wasn’t ready yet and needed time to think. Mark said he understood and respected that.

“I’m just sayin’, it seemed to me that it was a shoot — it was real, it was on the level — and that he was taking time to figure out what his next step was. And I asked him about coming on and talking about it, and he said, ‘I ain’t ready to talk about it. It’s not time yet, I need to digest it myself.’ And I respected that.”

Mark Henry said he isn’t sure about the full details, but he told R-Truth that this isn’t the end for him and hoped he wasn’t feeling too down about it. R-Truth responded that it was real.

Henry even texted him earlier asking if he was just kayfabing him, saying he’d stay quiet if that was the case. However, R-Truth confirmed it was legit. That’s when Henry realized it really was a hard situation.

“No, I’m not. The only thing I know is I told Truth yesterday that this is not the end for you. I hope you don’t got a boo boo face. He goes, ‘No, no, no.’ He said, “Nah, it’s for real.’ I even texted him that day saying, ‘Man, if you’re kayfabing me, I know to keep my mouth shut.’ He said, ‘Naw, that’s not it.’ I said to myself at that point, ‘Wow. This really sucks.'”

Bully Ray then asked Mark Henry when he spoke to R-Truth, whether he revealed why he was released. The World’s Strongest Man confirmed Truth did not, as he just said, “Did not.”

As previously reported, R-Truth was told over the weekend by someone from WWE’s talent team that his contract will not be renewed and that was a major shocker for everyone, including even Truth.

After spending over 25 years in WWE, R-Truth’s exit marks the end of an era but not the end of his career. Since TNA’s Head of Talent Relations has already reached out and told him to get in touch, we’ll have to wait and see what’s next for him.
