The wrestling world is still mourning the loss of Hulk Hogan, who passed away in July—but one of his closest friends believes his nonstop lifestyle played a tragic role in his death.
Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Diamond Dallas Page opened up about Hogan’s final months and revealed that The Hulkster’s overwhelming workload may have been too much, even for a legend like him.
“I know why Hulk isn’t here — because he pushed himself too hard,” DDP said bluntly.
According to Page, Hogan’s schedule in the months leading up to his death was packed. From promoting his All American Beer brand to launching a brand-new Hulk Hogan’s restaurant and bar, and even working on a wrestling-related project with Eric Bischoff, Hogan wasn’t slowing down for anything.
“You’d see him everywhere with his beer, All American Beer, the new Hulk Hogan’s restaurant and bar opening, and the wrestling project he was doing with Eric Bischoff. Hogan never stopped.”
DDP, known for his own intense fitness lifestyle, admitted he wouldn’t have attempted the same kind of grind—and that’s saying something.
“I consider myself in much better shape than he was, and even I wouldn’t have taken on the schedule he did.”
The loss hit DDP hard on a personal level.
“I took it hard.”
Diamond Dallas Page’s emotional words serve as a sobering reminder that even icons like Hulk Hogan are not invincible. Hogan’s tireless dedication to his businesses, the wrestling industry, and his fans never wavered—right up to the end. His passing has left a massive void, but his legacy, charisma, and larger-than-life persona will forever be a part of wrestling history.
