The future of Dark Side of the Ring is still uncertain, but that hasn’t stopped producers from quietly laying the groundwork for a possible seventh season.
According to a new report from PWInsider.com, Dark Side of the Ring has not yet been officially renewed by Vice TV. Despite this, the creators have already been discussing potential topics for Season 7 behind the scenes in hopes the greenlight comes soon.
One name reportedly “tossed around” for a potential episode is late indie wrestling icon Trent Acid. Another idea that had momentum was an episode focused on polarizing promoter Dennis Coralluzzo, although that particular concept was ultimately dropped for unspecified reasons.
With the Season 6 finale set to air next week, fans are now left waiting to see if Vice TV decides to move forward with more episodes. PWInsider noted, “I would be shocked if the series isn’t picked up as it’s easily been Vice TV’s most successful series to date and has spawned a ton of spinoffs, but we’ll see.”
The series has become a staple in wrestling media since its 2019 debut, diving deep into some of the most controversial, tragic, and jaw-dropping stories in wrestling history. From Owen Hart to the Plane Ride from Hell, it’s been must-watch TV for hardcore and casual fans alike.
