Daria Rae just dropped a personal story: she didn’t just get a like from The Rock — she says they privately exchanged voice messages in DMs.
The revelation came during her appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, where the conversation shifted to celebrities sliding into wrestlers’ inboxes and turned into a genuine moment about how surreal it felt to hear directly from one of the biggest stars on the planet.
She explained that the exchange started after she recreated The Rock’s iconic turtleneck-and-chain look and tagged him in the post. What she expected to be a fun homage turned into something way more personal when her inbox lit up.
“Me and Dwayne Johnson — The Rock — we have had a DM exchange. It was because I wore a turtleneck and I kind of mimicked his iconic outfit with the chain and the turtleneck, and I tagged him in it and I was like, ‘Wow, my Rock outfit.’”
According to Daria, the response wasn’t just a typed message. It was a voice memo from The Rock himself, which immediately caught her off guard.
“And he DM’d me with a voice memo… ‘Yo, D, that’s so cool. I’m watching you.’ And I mean, I don’t fangirl easily, but that got me. I was like, ‘Oh my god.’”
She admitted the moment hit her harder than she expected, not just because it was The Rock, but because of the effort he put into responding.
“He took the time to sit there and voice note me back and forth and we went back and forth for a couple times.”
Daria described the entire exchange as one of the coolest experiences of her life, but also confessed that nerves eventually got the best of her and she may have fumbled the ending.
“Then I made some like really corny joke — like a movie reference — and then that was the end. And I was like, ‘Okay, Daria… yeah.’”
It’s the kind of story that feels both relatable and unreal at the same time — getting encouragement from a global icon, overthinking your reply, and realizing afterward that you maybe tried a little too hard. For Daria, though, it wasn’t just a fan moment. It was validation from someone who’s been exactly where she’s trying to go.
What do you think — would you have kept the conversation going, or would you have panicked and fumbled the reply too?
